FAQs
What is Tele-Health and how does it differ from speaking to my own veterinarian?
Tele-Health is essentially a 1-on-1 consultation with a qualified professional that allows you to ask questions and get information about subjects related to your pets health and wellbeing from the convenience of your own home. Unlike in a veterinary clinic our attention and time is focused solely on you and questions you may have. We are hear to listen and to give our informed advice as veterinarians on a range of topics including puppy training tips, development and aging questions, information related to diseases, quality of life and euthanasia discussions, and any other question you may think up.
Do I not need to go to my veterinarian if I call you?
You absolutely need to see your regular veterinarian for annual visits. Tele-health appointments are not a substitute for a physical exam and wellness visit with your veterinarian. We cannot do an exam, testing, treatment, or prescribe medications or veterinary diets. Our sole goal is to provide you a comfortable avenue through which to ask questions and receive answers in a non-judgmental way over the phone or internet. We can offer you our time, our experience, and our full attention to you and your pet during your consultation.
What is the difference between Tele-Health and Tele-Medicine?
Tele-medicine is essentially a medical consultation with a veterinarian you have already visited in person. This is commonly your main veterinarian and the one you get your medications through. Most veterinarians do not have time to both perform tele-medicine and regular appointments. This is where tele-health can fill the gap for owners that may have questions about their pets health and quality of life, but not need medications or treatment currently. We help those owners that need someone who has the extra time they need to listen and discuss complicated subjects related to their pets health.
